In the Gojra near Faisalabad(Khushpur) , many young girls and widows are eager to learn skills to help support themselves and their families. They dream of better future but have no means of realizing them. Their neighborhood is too poor to have training centers that can teach them the skills they need to become a contributing member of the community. HRF &Pakistani Heirs of God(PHOG) have been helping them by giving them money,cloths,food,medicines,and sometimes shelter also.
With the sponsorship of US Heirs of God ,HRF & PHOG are committed now to make a positive difference in the lives of these young girls and widows permanently.
Regarding this project HRF & PHOG started "Ruth Donlan Sewing Centre" a free training in sewing and embroidery Centre since July 2007 as well as supplying to train girls to a level that they can earn a living .Initially only 07 girls are getting benifits we have a target of 100 girls till Decembe 2008.. HRF women desk & PHOG is managing this center according to its policies and procedures
.As an extension of this project, HRF &PHOG will also support the implementation of a micro loan project so that these girls & widows can purchase sewing machines and supplies to start their own small businesses.
Loans will be extended to include other widows & girls to help them establish small ventures that will provide them their sustenance and independence. The loans will be used in ventures such as starting a street vending operation, a small shop, or to purchase tools for a trade or a service. The borrowers will pay back in easy installments from the income of their businesses.
The objective is to help widows and less advantaged women establish their life and become self-sufficient. Women will be enrolled in vocational classes not only as sewing, but also in office management, literacy programs , social hygiene and Bible studies .. Students will join three-month estensive classes, and will graduate with a certificate. Students will receive orders to work on, which will be a good source of not only income, but also incentive and encouragement.
The US Heirs of God is sponsoring this project and we are running this project and taking care of its expenses with the assistance of US Heirs of God friends . The first training center in Gojra is a pilot project. The project will eventually be launch in other rural areas of District Faisalabad.
In 2009 ,our Dream is to start a "Ruth Donlan Vocational Training Centre" .We are sure God will provide us a building and material ,to train hundereds young girls and widows in so many fields.
